Trying old Roms - Refreshing topic

I am just sharing my latest experience. I have a Galaxy S3 SGH-T999L and I have tried so many roms and love many of them. I tried a few different Lolipop roms and a couple of them worked really well with the exception of Open Camera freezing here and there. I then went back to a TW based rom that was very customizable and fun. The keyboard had a tine hickup that bugged me a bit, but I just had to replace it to have a great rom. I then decided to try some very old roms in the TW arena like Wicked. Cool rom, but that had a camera issue as well when I tried the KT kernel. The stock kernel may have been good for the camera though, but I didn't try it. I then decided to do AOKP and I almost forgot about them, because they stopped making roms for the S3. I loaded the rom and wow, a breath of fresh air. My battery lasts forever on that rom and a custom kernel. There are like no bells and whistles compared to Lolipop though. The dialer doesn't show pictures and stuff. It is simple, sleek, and fun. The best part is that everything works on the S3. The rom was very customizable for those times of course.

Here is what I am running if I didn't get my downloads mixed up:
- AOKP_d2tmo_jb-mr2_milestone-1
- 3.4.66-KT747-g1ded067

I can't believe this combo still soars without any problems :cowboy::cowboy::cowboy:

I keep everything simple though. I don't use things like FB messenger or Google Now launcher. I am keeping an eye on permissions and underclocking my processor a bit. Vanila music player doesn't use many resources and I was using others with my Loli roms.

Maybe I will run into an issue later down the road, but all is good for now. Have a great day! Just wanted to share.
